Advantages and strengths
The Featherlite 6500 series platform stepladder is manufactured from non-conductive C-channel fiberglass in high-visibility safety yellow, assembled in Canada. Its slim, gapless 14 x 18-inch (35.6 x 45.7 cm) platform is equipped with a top rail guard that protects the user during work in the elevated position, an important safety advantage absent from most standard platform stepladders. Each step is reinforced with zinc-coated steel diagonal braces that increase step rigidity under load. Rear struts are reinforced with zinc-coated steel bracing for maximum structural stability. Wrap-around spreader braces ensure a solid arm-to-rail connection. Heavy-duty slip-resistant safety boots. Meets or exceeds CSA Grade 1A, ANSI Type 1A, and OSHA. Duty rating: 300 lbs (136 kg). Use
The Featherlite 6500 series platform stepladder is designed for professionals who work at height for extended periods and need a stable work surface with additional fall protection. It completes Featherlite's platform stepladder range with a Type 1A (300 lb) duty rating suited to standard professional use, while the 6500-AA series (orange, 375 lbs) covers heavy industrial applications.
The feature that most distinguishes the 6500 series from other platform stepladders is its top rail guard. Integrated into the slim, gapless platform, this guard protects the user at their highest position, reduces the risk of lateral falls during precision work, and allows horizontal forces (screwing, cutting, sanding) to be applied with secure support.
Construction is further reinforced by zinc-coated steel diagonal braces under each step and zinc-coated steel bracing on the rear struts. These two systems increase step rigidity under load and lateral stability of the full structure in the deployed position respectively.
Non-conductive high-visibility yellow fiberglass is the recommended material for work near electrical lines or equipment. Assembled in Canada. Meets or exceeds CSA Grade 1A, ANSI Type 1A, and OSHA. Duty rating: 300 lbs (136 kg). Available in 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, and 12 feet.
