Advantages and strengths

The 3M DBI-SALA Lad-Saf telescoping extension 6116618 is designed for roof hatch access, a situation where the transition zone between the ladder top and the rooftop level presents a critical fall risk often not covered by standard installations. The 30-inch (76 cm) telescoping arm deploys upward through the hatch so that the protection cable extends above roof level and the cable sleeve remains active throughout the exit. 4 simultaneous users. 3,600 lb integrated anchor. Compatible with various rung spacings and profiles. Pre-swaged cable (6104030 / 6104040) and sleeve (6160030 / 6160054) sold separately. ANSI Z359.16 and OSHA compliant.

Use

The 3M DBI-SALA Lad-Saf telescoping extension 6116618 is designed to solve one of the least well-covered fall risks in industrial and commercial buildings: roof hatch exit from a fixed ladder. On a standard installation, the protection cable stops at the last rung, leaving the user in an unprotected zone at precisely the moment they cross the hatch.

The telescoping arm deploys upward through the open hatch, extending the cable 30 inches (76 cm) above roof level. The user thus remains connected and protected throughout the exit movement from the ladder to their standing position on the rooftop, with no interruption in protection. The 4-user capacity makes it the right solution for buildings where multiple technicians regularly access the rooftop.

Installation by trained and qualified personnel only, in accordance with ANSI Z359.16 and OSHA requirements. The 3/8 in pre-swaged cable (6104030 / 6104040) and Lad-Saf X2 (6160030) or X3 (6160054) cable sleeve are ordered separately.
