Use
The Featherlite 9200D series extension ladder is the non-conductive fiberglass reference at maximum industrial duty rating (Type IAA, 375 lbs) for roofing and siding contractors, building maintenance crews, and technicians working on elevated structures.
Rear Raise: a Real Advantage for Solo Work
On most extension ladders, the fly section raises from the front, requiring the operator to position themselves between the ladder and the facade. On the 9200D series, the fly section raises from the rear, allowing a single operator to deploy and adjust the length without standing between the ladder and the wall. This is a significant safety and efficiency gain, especially appreciated on jobsites where working alone is common.
D-Shaped Rungs: the Best Standard for High Elevations
For work at 6, 8, or 10 meters height, the comfort difference between round rungs and D-shaped rungs becomes significant. The flat platform of the D-shaped rung reduces foot fatigue and improves stability, especially during long periods of work at the top of the ladder. The anti-slip serration ensures a firm grip even with wet or muddy work boots.
Dual-Position Metal Boot
The full heavy duty metal boot with steel swivel safety shoes adapts to two configurations: flat position for hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt, wood), and spike position for soft terrain (dirt, grass) or icy surfaces in winter. This system eliminates the need to swap feet depending on the jobsite.
Safe for Electrical Environments
Non-conductive high-visibility yellow fiberglass is the required material for work near overhead power lines, connections, or energized equipment. Unlike aluminum ladders, it does not conduct electricity and reduces risk in case of accidental contact.
Setup Angle and Climbing Level
In accordance with CSA and ANSI standards, the ladder must be set up at a 75.5° angle (4:1 ratio: for every 4 ft of supported height, the base should be 1 ft from the wall). The highest permitted standing level is 4 rungs below the top. For rooftop access, the ladder must extend at least 3 ft (1 m) above the roof edge.
Compliance Information
