6100 - Non-Conductive Fiberglass Single Ladder 1-Piece Spur Wheel Foot Assembly
Non-conductive fiberglass single ladder with exclusive 1-piece spur wheel foot assembly: ultra-stable base and maximum Type IAA duty rating for intensive industrial use.
Advantages and strengths
The Featherlite 6100 series single ladder is manufactured from non-conductive high-visibility yellow C-channel fiberglass. Its exclusive 1-piece spur wheel foot assembly is a single-unit piece that eliminates the moving parts typical of swivel shoe systems: the integrated spur wheel anchors the foot to the ground, and the structural rigidity of the one-piece foot delivers significantly higher torsion resistance, particularly when working on hard surfaces like concrete or asphalt. The riveted rung-to-rail connection maintains the continuous structural strength of the fiberglass fibres along the full C-channel rail length. Non-marring end caps protect the contact surface and fiberglass. Meets or exceeds CSA Grade 1AA, ANSI Type IAA, and OSHA. Duty rating: 375 lbs (170 kg). Available in 5 sizes from 2.44 m to 4.88 m (8 to 16 feet).

Use
The Featherlite 6100 series single ladder is the non-conductive fiberglass reference at maximum duty rating (Type IAA, 375 lbs) for construction, industrial maintenance, and facade maintenance work that demands impeccable base stability.
The exclusive 1-piece spur wheel foot assembly is the reason the 6100 series clearly distinguishes itself from the 5600D in the Featherlite catalogue. On the 5600D, swivel shoes have moving parts that orient to adapt to the ladder's incline angle. On the 6100, there are no moving parts: the foot is a single, solid unit with no mechanical play. The integrated spur wheel digs slightly into soft surfaces (earth, wood) and anchors without sliding. On hard surfaces (concrete, tile, asphalt), the structural rigidity of the foot prevents rail torsion under lateral load, a phenomenon that can occur with mobile shoe systems when the user applies horizontal forces from the ladder.
The riveted rung-to-rail connection maintains the continuous structural strength of the fiberglass fibres by avoiding localized stress points that can occur with different mechanical fastening systems. Non-marring end caps at the top of the rails protect both the fiberglass and the contact surfaces (painted walls, cladding, coated facades).
Non-conductive high-visibility yellow fiberglass is required for any work near electrical lines or equipment. Meets or exceeds CSA Grade 1AA, ANSI Type IAA, and OSHA. Available in 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16 feet.
