The D-Shaped Rung Difference

Unlike the round rungs found on the 5300 series, the D-shaped rungs on the 5600D series feature a flat upper surface and a rounded lower surface. This geometry provides a significantly wider and more comfortable foot platform, reduces fatigue during repeated ascents and descents, and improves stability when the user needs to work hands-occupied at a fixed height. This is the preferred rung type for fixed industrial stairs and permanent access ladders.

Reinforced Construction for Industry

The heavy duty aluminum rung connector plates that join each rung to the fiberglass rails form a significantly stronger connection than simple riveted systems. The riveted connection itself maintains the continuous structural integrity of the fiberglass fibers along the full length of the rail, avoiding stress concentrations that can occur with other fastening systems.

Swivel Shoes with Full Metal Boot
