Use
The Featherlite 4100 series single ladder is the reference aluminum straight ladder for construction contractors, painters, roofers, and building maintenance teams who need reliable equipment to access facades, gutters, and pitched rooftops.
Box Section: a Real Structural Difference
The closed box section profile of the 4100 series side rails offers greater bending and torsion resistance than an I-beam or C-channel profile at equal weight. On a long ladder (16 to 24 feet), this increased rigidity reduces rail flex under load and improves lateral stability, which is especially important during extended work where the user must lean to reach surfaces.
Rungs and Feet Built for the Jobsite
The serrated round aluminum rungs provide an ergonomic, slip-resistant footing even in rigid-soled work boots. The heavy-duty ribbed swivel feet automatically orient to maintain flat ground contact regardless of the ladder's angle, and the integrated ice pick provides anchorage on soft or icy surfaces.
Proper Setup and Installation
In accordance with CSA and ANSI standards, the ladder must be set up at a 75.5° angle (4:1 ratio: for every 4 ft of supported height, the base should be 1 ft from the wall). The highest permitted standing level is 4 rungs below the top. The ladder should always be secured at its upper contact point for extended work.
Electrical Warning
Aluminum is an electrical conductor. This ladder must never be used near overhead power lines, electrical panels, or any energized equipment. For electrical work environments, use only a non-conductive fiberglass ladder.
